Lianyungang Maritime Safety Administration deploys annual on-site supervision work for crew members

On the afternoon of March 5th, our bureau held a 2021 on-site supervision meeting for crew members. The deputy director Ding Xing attended the meeting along with the responsible leaders and business contact persons from the Yancheng branch and each maritime administration division.

The meeting first summarized the completion status of the on-site supervision of crew members by our bureau in 2020. In 2020, all law enforcement units of our bureau focused on the central task of "adequate ship seaworthiness and competent crew members", adopted multiple measures and innovated inspection methods, and completed various tasks well. The workload of crew penalty, crew violation points recording, ship crew inspection and crew qualification verification increased compared to the previous year. Subsequently, the Crew Department explained and deployed the key tasks of on-site supervision of crew members in 2021, clearly identifying three major key tasks: crew crewing inspection, qualification verification, and maritime labor conditions inspection. It also decomposed the target tasks of on-site supervision of crew members according to the characteristics of each law enforcement unit. Finally, Deputy Director Ding Xing made instructions and requirements for the work in 2021. First, we should enhance our understanding of on-site supervision of crew members and regard it as an important task in the three-year safety special rectification activity; second, we should make full use of various existing means to carry out crew supervision work comprehensively and implement all the tasks and indicators in 2021; third, we should strengthen training and learning. The crew regulations have changed significantly, and we should organize more learning and training to enhance the professional capabilities of law enforcement personnel.
